You immediately feel at home and the dishes are Franconian with a bit of creative change, definitely delicious and cheap. We like to come back every time! Just because of the typical Franconian warmth, the location and the food!

Reserved for 8 people the day before, no table was prepared for us, we were told we should push tables together with the hint that we should move them around again after dinner! Tables totally dirty with leftover food and full of flies, we kindly asked for a fresh tablecloth for which we were looked at unfriendly. The reaction of the operator was that he simply exchanged the entire table and put it somewhere else for the next guests, with the dirty tablecloth of course. Disinfection (Corona) ... Nothing. Ordered dark shandy ... only if you drink two of them. On the online menu, prices are 35-40% cheaper than they actually are and most of the dishes are not available. Also kindly pointed out that the online menu, after which we finally selected the restaurant, is not up-to-date and the prices quoted differ extremely. Reaction of the service: absolutely unfriendly yes even outrageous and cheeky / reproachful. There is only one star because the food actually tasted quite good except that the skin of the goose breast was far from crispy, it was totally "sloppy". Never again this inn absolutely not to be recommended! I honestly wonder how there can be so many positive reviews or how many of them are fake. Possibly also staff or tenants changed but that was at least two days ago. EDIT: two days later this card (see picture) was removed: D

We stopped at this country inn on a hike. This one was a very positive surprise. The food was very, very tasty and the presentation of the food was so loving that it opened my heart. The landlady is open and friendly and responded to all requests. When we go on holiday in Franconian Switzerland again, we will visit this country inn again.

We had an excellent meal tonight, vegetable schnitzel with french fries and salad, everything freshly prepared, you can taste it. And a cellar beer, what more could you want. Well worth a visit, the boss is very friendly and nice. We are already looking forward to the next detour!

Perfectly fried venison medallions and schnitzel eaten with wild garlic! Delicious! We will be back.

Returned here a week ago after the hike. Were totally surprised by the creative dishes, great quality and tasted it also wonderful. Schnitzel have eaten nature with asparagus and baked cheese. For dessert, vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil (the hammer). We can recommend the Gasthaus Steinbrecher.

The best trout we have ever eaten. We always like to come back.
